KYLIE JENNER BABY NAME PREDICTIONS

by Sydney Redd

Yesterday, Twitter's biggest fake mystery was solved. Kylie Jenner confirmed her pregnancy with an 11 minute long film documenting her life for the past 9 months.  We all knew she was pregnant, even if we didn't want to believe it, deep down we all knew. However, actually hearing her confirm it sparked another social media frenzy that only a Kardashian-Jenner can create. Now we're all anxiously waiting for Kylie's next big bit of headline making news: her daughter's name.
During our last girltalk. meeting, we made our predictions, which are pretty good if I do say so myself. We took everything into consideration: the Kardashian brand, Kylie and Travis' favorite things, and geography. But in the case that you haven't decided on name just yet, we got you Kylie.

HOROSCOPE

LIBRA season!
On Monday, the new moon is in Libra and it looks super positive! Dwelling in peace should be one of the themes. All you need to do is commit to it!

Mercury is in Libra right now too! (Just until Oct 9) which is great! Libra and the planet of communication should go hand in hand and so, you might have seen rationality in your communication. You will not have a tendency to make quick decisions.

In other news, Venus is in Scoprio from Sept 9— Oct 31. This is the time when you will seek a deeper emotional bond. This will get extremely heated in most of our close relationships as our vulnerabilities seep out. Try to not be as impulsive and slip under this sensual spell, beware if you do, it might bring it down to all or nothing.  Mercury is in Libra right now too! (Just until Oct 9) which is great! WHAT THE 4TH MEANS TO ME AS A BLACK WOMAN

Happy 4th of July. America’s Independence Day. The day the nation officially separated itself from England and built its own empire on the basis of equality. The Founding Fathers stated: “We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men and women are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”. What beautiful words, filled with hope and unfortunate false promises. In 1776, people of color were not free, not independent, and not even considered people. While today we are free, we are not treated equally due to prejudice and loopholes within legislation as well as social and cultural influences that still rot our society today as a result of slavery. Every year on the 4th of July I take time to read Frederick Douglass’ speech, “What to a Slave is the 4th of July”. Then, the 4th was “a day that reveals to him [slaves], more than all other days in the year, the gross injustice…
