For the month of February, I wanted to sit down and talk to some of my friends who are in relationships. I wanted to get different perspectives of young people my age being in serious relationships. For this photo series I started off with my friends Cassidy and Chloe.

So let’s start with a brief introduction with you two.
Chloe: I’m Chloe, I’m 20 years old and I’m a student, a model and an actress, and I love pink.
Cassidy:  I’m Cass, I’m basically 21, I work full time and I just want to make the world a better place.
Chloe: you sound so stoned, so astonishing
Cass: aSTONEing (referring to being high)

Where did you meet?
Chloe: Cass messaged me first.
Cass: I was being a tinder hoe, being sexually promiscuous and had been with multiple partners within the week Chloe and I started talking. BASICALLY I was hooking up with someone the first date Chloe and I started talking. But I saw Chloe’s profile and she was so beautiful so I thought she was a bot. But then I read her bio and knew she was real. So I swiped right and send a corny ass pick up line and it took off from there.

*Cass is cooking some fries while this interview is going on, we hear some explosion in the kitchen and fire alarm goes off. Chloe runs to open the door.*

Cass: Chloe hasn’t eaten chili cheese fries in the last 8 years so i’m making vegan ones for her! *as she runs to turn off alarm* SORRY EVERYONE!

What was your first date like?
Chloe: She came to pick me up at my apartment complex, but I couldn’t describe where to park so the solution was for Cassidy to stand on top of her car, I went outside and saw her then we were going to go to twin peaks and smoke weed but we didn’t make it there.
Cass: It was so foggy so we just started driving aimlessly and talking. We were listening to music and being awkward
Chloe: She asked if she could hold my hand and I told her to just do it, she was being super cautious because she’s a gentleman. We sat and talked for along time and got some fries then went back to my apartment complex. I stole her sweatshirt and that was that.

*interview pauses again because Cass is very worried about making the fries*

What do you like most about each other?
Cass: it’s so hard because how can I pick that when I can’t even pick a favorite song? Chloe is my favorite person and the idea of picking a favorite thing about my favorite person is such a far out there concept
Chloe: Something that stands out about Miss Cassidy is that she is very selfless and down to help someone out when it’s inconvenient for her, she’ll make it seem as if it is not a big deal for her even if it is. She’ll drive all the way to Foster City to pick me up because I don’t like driving.
Cass: I’ve never had someone so kind, giving and observant in so many ways, she’s very quick to pick up on people, so it’s not just with me but everyone and she’s so good at expressing that. ‘Oh I thought of you and picked this up for you’. Everything she does is so thoughtful. <3

LIBRA season!        On Monday, the new moon is in Libra and it looks super positive! Dwelling in peace should be one of the themes. All you need to do is commit to it!       Mercury is in Libra right now too! (Just until Oct 9) which is great! Libra and the planet of communication should go hand in hand and so, you might have seen rationality in your communication. You will not have a tendency to make quick decisions.         In other news, Venus is in Scoprio from Sept 9— Oct 31. This is the time when you will seek a deeper emotional bond. This will get extremely heated in most of our close relationships as our vulnerabilities seep out. Try to not be as impulsive and slip under this sensual spell, beware if you do, it might bring it down to all or nothing.  Mercury is in Libra right now too! (Just until Oct 9) which is great! LISTEN TO US ON FRUITY THOT HERE: FRUITY THOT OUR RADIO SHOW EXPERIENCE: by Sydney Redd Quite recently, we were lucky enough to be featured guests on our friend Matt's radio show at San Francisco State University!! The show is called Fruity Thot, and explores a wide variety of topics from art and culture to identity and empowerment.  We were super nervous at first; Savanna and I had never been on a radio show before and weren't exactly sure what we would talk about.  We met on campus and walked to the studio together, exchanging our internal butterflies and hopeful expectations.  Once we entered the studio, Matt gave us a quick tour and played the playlist we sent him days prior. We put on our headphones and danced to "Genius of Love" by The Tom Tom Club and the ever so iconic "Dirrty" by  Xtina, pumping ourselves up. Once we started the interview the conversation flowed. Matt did a great job of building on our comments and asking us insightfu

Happy 4th of July. America’s Independence Day. The day the nation officially separated itself from England and built its own empire on the basis of equality. The Founding Fathers stated: “We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men and women are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”. What beautiful words, filled with hope and unfortunate false promises. In 1776, people of color were not free, not independent, and not even considered people. While today we are free, we are not treated equally due to prejudice and loopholes within legislation as well as social and cultural influences that still rot our society today as a result of slavery. Every year on the 4th of July I take time to read Frederick Douglass’ speech, “What to a Slave is the 4th of July”. Then, the 4th was “a day that reveals to him [slaves], more than all other days in the year, the gross i
